oh... First of all format all drives and clear all partitions. All sensitive data should be saved in C: drive only.

Now start your windows installation. From beginning

Make sure your hdd is safely plugged, check out the wires.

Ronnie, let me correct you. Sensitive data should never be stored in C: drive because it is prone to i/o usage and corruption. You may need to format it anytime. So always save important data in non-system drive.

amitpandey, you can rescue your important data to a USB storage device using a bootable tool like BartPE. BartPE is small. It will provide you minimal Windows feature and would enable to rescue your data easily.

How to do it
* Download this ISO file
(Link. Click here to open)

* Burn it to a CD using Nero or any other program you like
* Boot the affected computer with the CD you made.
* Transfer the data to a USB drive.

Hope this helps. :)

Amit, I think your partition table has been corrupted.

This is a bit serious thing. Your files will be lost if you make mistakes at this time.

You can give a try to EaseUSŪ Partition Recovery 5.0.1. It is free. :)
